I've
been an avid shopper and surfer at Bluefly.com for two years, and I'm
constantly turning my female friends on to the bargains they can find
there. Unlike some brick-and-mortar outlet stores, the majority of
Bluefly's merchandise is in top condition--I've never received one
second-rate or damaged item. The great selection of designer merchandise
cannot be beat anywhere else on the Web.
Bluefly.com deals in many brand names, among them: Calvin Klein, DKNY,
Polo Ralph Lauren, Nautica, XOXO, Croscill, & Wamsutta. Bargains
abound in every category. I've bought a pair of DKNY sunglasses for $18
(retail price: $44); men's khaki Nautica pants for $19.99 (retail price:
$54); Wamsutta bath towels for $6.00 (retail: $9.00 and up).
I find that I have the best luck shopping for lingerie, men's clothing,
and housewares, because these are all rather general categories. The
selection of women's clothing sometimes leaves something to be desired--you'll
have the best luck shopping for basics, like black pants, but I have
occasionally stumbled across adorable dresses and designer sweaters. As
with all online stores AND outlets, the key to finding great stuff at
Bluefly.com is searching, searching, searching--and checking back often.
At Bluefly.com, you can search by designer or category, or both. The
handiest feature that this site has added is a search-by-size feature.
Since not all of their clothing is offered in all sizes, you can plug in
your size, and the search will only return items that will fit you. This
is a fabulous time-saving feature that makes shopping at Bluefly.com
really pleasurable and simple.
Bluefly.com is also extremely helpful when it comes to gift and holiday
shopping--I search the "gifts" category all year long, looking
for cool stuff at good prices to give away. Almost as much fun as
shopping for myself!
If you choose to have them sent, Bluefly will also send you e-mailed
updates of sales and new merchandise. Their customer service department
is extremely helpful and will answer your e-mailed questions quickly.
Shipping prices are very reasonable--no more or less than you would pay
at other online stores, and with standard delivery, your items will
usually arrive within a week.
I highly recommend giving Bluefly.com a try if you've never shopped
there before--you never know what you'll find, and your closet AND your
wallet will thank you!

My
first experience with BlueFly was phenomenal. I ordered my item (a Ralph
Lauren polo) on a Thursday, and lo and behold it arrived that same
Saturday, not two days later. It was nicely packed in a box, wrapped in
tissue paper, and came with a card SIGNED by the person who packed the
box. Now that is customer service.
The
item was exactly how it was described online, which is a plus because
they only have first quality inventory unlike some other online outlets
that have damaged or irregular goods. The price was right for this item
and the shipping was not too over the top. The prices may be high for
some of their inventory, but that is because it is all designer stuff.
Don't shop here if you can't afford it, but it will save you a bundle if
you do. All in all I saved 40% and they gained a new customer
