I've very recently
become a devotee of Jerry Baker and his gardening and lawn tips.
If you are in no mood to spend $100's of dollars on making your grass look
like a million bucks, Jerry Baker is the man you need to know!
I purchased my first home last year and found a lawn that was lacking, to
say the least. And as any usual first time homeowner, I wanted to have the
best house on the block. All within a reasonable budget and I wanted natural
products as I have a dog and do not want her exposed to chemicals.
I actually found my first Jerry Baker book on QVC entitled "Old-Time
Gardening Wisdom." The book is full of amazingly easy and cheap
solutions to a great lawn and garden. This book immediately piqued my
interest and I went Jerry's website www.JerryBaker.com and found this video
"Lawn Care Tips and Tricks."
This video is very short and needs substantially more detail. You can find
out much of the same information in his small book series "Problem
Solvers" with greater detail. I really found the video to just be a
teaser to get more information. I think his written manuals and books
provide the best information and they are much easier to reference. His
website also has several free green thumb ideas and a seasonal tonic for
your garden or lawn.
Jerry is a simple guy with simple ideas. Ever thought of using beer or soda
on your lawn? It really works! I couldn't believe it last year when I used
his "instant green-up tonic" on my grass - it consists of dish
soap, beer, instant tea, soda and a few other ingredients readily available.
Honestly, my grass turned into a lush green carpet within 5 days.
But his concoctions do work. You may feel odd opening up a can of beer for
your lawn, but trust me, it will thank you!
Skip the video and head to the website or pick up one of his books. The
stuff works and it's easy on you and your wallet!
