I finally had had it with isp's. I have had several connections and hated them all. The best service I got was from my last ISP, a connection of 54666 on a 56-k modem. I was impressed. But they were also up the East Coast and every time we had the storms roll in, my connection went bezerk.

So I got online to www.verizon.com, signed up. You have to wait for your connection date before you could do anything else. In a week my package came with all my items needed to install for my new DSL. I even got in on a great promotion and got the Logitech Web Cam Express free! I was impressed.

When the package comes you have to call and verify with them that everything is in the box as was stated would be in the box. I was missing nothing.

On the date your connection is available to you, they gave me 6 p.m. on my date, you have to follow 3 steps to installation.

1. The phone and number that you are putting your DSL on will be disconnected from the wall and you place this 2-line connector in, then your filter piece and then your phone line into the connector piece. The other slot is for another phone, leave empty for now. (they gave extra parts here no charge)
You plug in the phone line they provide and run it to your modem that they provide.

2. Install the Ethernet card or Nic card as we call it, to your computer. Run the network cable from the back of your computer, the Nic card jack to your modem. Then the other cord is plugged into the modem and into the outlet.

3. This part you do not do until the exact time you are to receive the DSL. Again mine was 6pm so I did this at exactly 6pm. Install the software. This CD comes with Netscape 4.73 and will overwrite your existing Netscape browser only if you have deleted the profile. The trick is to leave the existing there. When you have transferred all your bookmarks and mail boxes over to the new profile then you can delete the old profile.

That was it. If you have the know how to set everything else up you will fly through this in a breeze. It took me 25 minutes to install all these parts and apply the steps.

I called them for the heck of it; I wanted to see if my account was indeed active and ready before I hit the go online button.
I talked with a man named Joe and everything was great. They have the best customer service and great helpful tech support.

I was ready to go online at that point. Click, enter data, and boom! I was on.

I have to say I am so very pleased with their service I have not turned my PC off in days. I am able to get into sites I could never get into before with an ISP.

I have now done away with 2 phone lines, and two ISP connections at $55 per month and now only pay $39.95 for DSL and one phone! It is definitely a savings.
